I finally got the timing belt changed on the Daihatsu yesterday. Just went for a drive and enjoyed it today.

The previous owner changed it at some point and had it for 25 years. Some people do punish themselves with Daihatsu ownership for a long time :P

Thats right after starting with it still fully choked. Once warmed up and the choke disengaged it settles to 900-1000rpm.

all good here... pork roast in the oven making the house smell real nice (downside being its making me hungry now... still have to wait an hour)

other than that im having a lazy day and doing nothing (but i do have to go to bed by 10 latest tonight as im on earlies next week... yay for cycling to work at 4 am with temperatures round -10 )

It has a secondary choke in addition to the main that you apply in winter which makes it idle even higher. It’s a revvy little engine too. It behaves closer to my motorbike than my other car.

no choice sold me little panda last year only have me bikes left (like 6 and a half of them)

id kill for something with a closed cab and a working heater right about now...

oh well... my commute is only about 3 miles thats why the car went.... damned if i dont miss it right about now tho

I would probably cycle more if I was that close to work, but my commute is 3 times that so I would be a sweaty mess by the time I arrived XD.
